Overview

  • The Director, Solution Architecture will lead a team who assists external clients in learning and using complex software programs and applications like Plant 3D, ACC, Advance Steel, Vault, and Inventor. 
  • A week will typically consist of about 70% pre-sales, 20% project work, and 10% learning/innovation. 
  • Pre-sales and project work can include training remotely or on-site at a client’s facility.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be performing the following activities within a recent AutoCAD Plant 3D version (2021-2025): 

 

  • Create P&ID symbols like valves, instruments, and equipment. 
  • Create Plant 3d part catalogs that integrate with P&IDs and isometrics. 
  • Create title blocks linked to project data for P&IDs, Orthographics, and Isometrics. 
  • Create and customize isometric styles for design checking, fabrication, and spool isometrics. 
  • Use the report creator to make reports for bill of materials from the 3d model, instrument lists, and equipment lists from P&IDs. 

 

Foundational Competencies: 

 

  • Pre-sales activities include identifying whether a customer can is a fit for Plant 3D, identifying new products and services for customer engagements, and providing guidance to sales team members on next steps. 
  • Strong communication skills are used to learn more about client requirements, and documenting conversations to disseminate information to the project team. 
  • A team member should have strong troubleshooting skills which helps lead into discovering how new applications work and can impact plant design practices. 

Qualifications

  • Industry experience in pipe design, engineering, or fabrication. 
  • AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • Experience with CADWorx, PDS, PDMS, or other pipe design products
  • Navisworks desired 
  • Advance Steel desired 
  • New products using various training tools available online, in-person mentoring, or existing curricula.
